I began writing many years ago when I saw how God affected the lives of people around me. However, not a word was published through all those many years… until now. Recently, I had the urge to compile the many notes I had filed away showing God’s loving interaction in lives. Two books are now in the stages of editing and soon will be available.
You might like to know a little about me. I was born in Santa Monica and grew up in Tarzana, California. (Tarzana was named after the character “Tarzan”, created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, who lived there). At 16 I accepted Jesus as my Savior. After graduating high school, I became the church secretary while joining the Roller Derby training school. I became a professional when I skated for the Chicago Westerners and when the San Francisco Bay Bombers started, I skated on this new team.
Some years later leaving the Derby, I married Roy, a high school teacher. We had two children Roanne and Matthew. When they were 17 and 12 years old when Roy died. Instead of being a church secretary (at another church), a Camp Fire Girls leader and a PTA officer, I had to go to work.
An elevator company hired me. Years later the International Union of Elevator constructors in Los Angeles asked me to work for them. When new computers were being installed and wires running all around the floors, I tripped, 5 discs were crushed resulting in many years of therapy.
Not being able to sit for an 8 hour job, I became a mediator at a non-profit organization, mediating Los Angeles County small claim and family law cases. Attending Calvary Chapel, God encouraged me to start two programs which became Neighborhood Bible Clubs and the prison program called Angel Tree.
Roanne moved to Georgia and Matt moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. I relocated to Georgia in 2007 when my mother, who I had been living with me, died. Eight months after moving to be with my daughter, she unexpectedly died. In 2018 I relocated to Pahrump, Nevada, and moved to be close to Matt.
It was here that God encouraged me to “finish the project” He gave me to do….. I hope if you decide to read how wonderful God has been to all the people you will meet on the pages of these books, that you too will have a closer walk with God. This is His desire for all of us!!!
